Pet Sitting Service Contract
This Pet Sitting Service Contract (the “Agreement”) is made and entered into as of [DATE] by and between [PET SITTER NAME], residing at [PET SITTER ADDRESS] (“Pet Sitter”), and [CLIENT NAME], residing at [CLIENT ADDRESS] (“Client”).
1. Services Provided
The Pet Sitter agrees to provide pet sitting services to the Client for the following pet(s):

- Cleaning up after pets (e.g., litter box maintenance, accident clean-up).
- Providing companionship and attention to the pets.
- Bringing in mail and newspapers.
- Watering indoor plants (if requested).
- Alternating lights and curtains to give the appearance of occupancy (if requested).
- Sending daily updates to the Client, including photos/videos (if requested).
2. Service Schedule and Fees
The Pet Sitting service will commence on [START DATE] and end on [END DATE].
The agreed-upon schedule is as follows:

3. Medication and Special Needs
If the Client’s pet(s) require medication, the Client will provide clear and detailed instructions, including:

- Dosage
- Frequency
- Method of administration
- Any potential side effects
The Client will provide all necessary medication and supplies. The Pet Sitter is not responsible for providing medication or diagnosing any medical conditions. The Pet Sitter will make a reasonable attempt to administer medication as instructed. However, if the pet refuses to take the medication, the Pet Sitter will notify the Client and document the situation.

4. Client Responsibilities
The Client is responsible for:
- Providing a safe and secure environment for the pet(s).
- Ensuring that the pet(s) are up-to-date on all necessary vaccinations and are free from fleas and ticks.
- Providing sufficient food, medication, and supplies for the duration of the service period.
- Providing accurate and complete information about the pet(s)’ needs and behaviors.
- Providing a working key or access code to the Client’s home.
- Informing the Pet Sitter of any changes in the pet(s)’ condition or behavior.
- Notifying the Pet Sitter of any potential hazards in the home.
- Providing emergency contact information (see Section 6).
5. Pet Sitter Responsibilities
The Pet Sitter is responsible for:
- Providing the agreed-upon pet sitting services in a responsible and professional manner.
- Following the Client’s instructions carefully and completely.
- Maintaining the security of the Client’s home and property.
- Providing regular updates to the Client regarding the pet(s)’ well-being.
- Contacting the Client immediately in case of an emergency.
- Acting in the best interest of the pet(s) at all times.
6. Emergency Contact Information
In case of an emergency, the Pet Sitter will first attempt to contact the Client at the following numbers:

If the Client cannot be reached, the Pet Sitter will contact the following emergency contact person:

7. Veterinary Care
In the event of a medical emergency, the Pet Sitter is authorized to seek veterinary care for the pet(s) at the Client’s expense. The Pet Sitter will make a reasonable attempt to contact the Client before seeking veterinary care. If the Client cannot be reached, the Pet Sitter will use their best judgment to determine the appropriate course of action.
The Client is responsible for all veterinary expenses incurred while the pet(s) are in the care of the Pet Sitter. The Client authorizes the veterinarian to provide necessary treatment.
8. Cancellation Policy
If the Client needs to cancel the Pet Sitting service, they must provide at least [NUMBER] days’ notice. If the Client cancels with less than [NUMBER] days’ notice, the Client will forfeit the deposit. Cancellations made [NUMBER] days or more prior to the start date will receive a full refund of any payments made, excluding the non-refundable deposit.
If the Pet Sitter needs to cancel the Pet Sitting service due to unforeseen circumstances, the Pet Sitter will make a reasonable attempt to find a suitable replacement. If a replacement cannot be found, the Pet Sitter will refund all payments made by the Client.
9. Liability
The Pet Sitter will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury to the Client’s property or person, or to any third party, arising out of or in connection with the Pet Sitting service, except to the extent that such loss, damage, or injury is caused by the Pet Sitter’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.
The Client is responsible for any damage or injury caused by their pet(s) to the Pet Sitter or to any third party. The Client agrees to indemnify and hold the Pet Sitter harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising out of or in connection with the pet(s)’ actions.
10. Entire Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the Pet Sitter and the Client with respect to the Pet Sitting service and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether oral or written.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [STATE].
12. Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
By signing below, both parties acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions of this Pet Sitting Service Contract.
